International Pooper Scooper Week

Mar 25, 2025

Today is March 31st, let’s use the final day of this month to prepare for the beginning of the next! The week of April 1-7 every year is to educate pet owners on the importance of cleaning up after their dogs.

While many dog owners clean up after every time their pup does its business, sometimes deep snow or extreme temperatures prevent this kind of dedication, as the weather begins to warm, whatever what left behind starts to emerge. This usually results in a few hours, once the weather permits, of canine cleanup time where pet owners will venture out to their yards and do a deep clean from the winter months. Either that, or they’ll reach out to a waste removal company and have them do it.

So, what is this week and how do we partake in it?

International Pooper Scooper Week is a week created by a group of individuals in February of 2002 who “believe everyone should be able to go barefoot without a messy squish between their toes”.
