If you want to know everything that goes into your dogs diet, treats are a great place to start. They’re simple, easy, and if you have a silicon mold, pop them in the freezer for a yummy treat a few hours later. Listed below are some ingredient combinations you can use in your treat molds and your pup will love! Exact measurements don’t matter too much since these recipes are all no-bake. When using ingredients at home, make sure they are the cleanest version of that product so your dog is happy and healthy.
1. Peanut Butter Banana Bites
Blend together plain yogurt, xylitol-free peanut butter (commonly seen in “zero or low sugar PB’s), and a large banana. Pour into your molds and wait until frozen for a refreshing treat.
2. Golden Yogurt Bites
Blend together canned pure pumpkin, plain yogurt, and raw honey for a delicious snack you might enjoy yourself. If you’d like, you can drizzle honey on top before giving to your pup.
3. Broth Bites
Freeze low-sodium chicken or bone broth and perhaps add a blend of veggies such as kale, carrots, green beans, or broccoli to give them extra vitamins!
4. Probiotic Goodness
Blend 2:1 ratio of plain, unsweetened kefir to blueberries and put in molds for a gut-healthy treat. Sweet potatoes (fully cooked, plain, and peeled) along with buttermilk (unsalted, unflavored, and watered down) are also safe foods full of probiotic you can incorporate into your next treat, but require a little more energy.
5. Coconut Fruit Bites
Melt coconut oil and pour a thin layer into the bottom of your molds. Mush strawberries up with water and fill rest of molds. Put them in the freezer and you are all done! Apples, blackberries, honeydew, cantaloupe, and watermelon are also safe foods if you want to switch up the fruits you use.
